RAD140
TESTOLONE
RAD140, also known as Testolone, is an investigational selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM). It is discussed for muscle growth and strength, but published human research has focused on advanced breast cancer rather than bodybuilding.
RAD140 (TESTOLONE) — QUICK SUMMARY
What is RAD140 (Testolone)?
RAD140, also called Testolone, is a nonsteroidal compound in the selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) family. SARMs are designed to activate androgen receptors, proteins that respond to hormones such as testosterone and influence activity in tissues including muscle and bone.
RAD140 has attracted attention in strength-training and bodybuilding communities because activating androgen receptors may affect muscle-related processes. However, a proposed mechanism is not the same as proof that RAD140 safely increases muscle mass or performance in people.
The published first-in-human Phase 1 trial studied 22 postmenopausal women with advanced breast cancer. Researchers examined safety, how the compound behaved in the body and early signs of antitumour activity. This was not a trial of muscle growth in healthy adults.
In that study, elevated liver enzymes were common: AST increased in 59.1% of participants and ALT in 45.5%. The patients had advanced cancer, so these results cannot be treated as an estimate of risk for healthy users, but they reinforce why safety claims about RAD140 require caution.
Selective does not mean side-effect free. RAD140 is not testosterone, and its tissue-selective design does not establish that it avoids hormonal effects or liver injury. Its clinical evidence cannot be used to confirm bodybuilding claims.
